I was part on a movement for some 20 odd years. Where numbers were of vital importance setting the tone of your success or lack there of!
I am now part of a movement where you are important a relationship is paramount
That being said I have been talking with the boss of late (senior pastor) about multiplication and what that is to us in the church (world wide as well as local)
We talk of those being added but what is multiplication in this context to give you an idea lets say you were offered $1mil or $1 dollar doubled every day for a month answer most people give they want the $1mil that is addition because

So we take this principal and translate it into church life how would than look. We were asked to go and make disciples, which is an investment of your into the life of one person. So say we invest in that person for one year. Then at the end of the year you & your disciple go do same thing again & you they did that for 30 years for we could go for the quick fix

One evangelist doing an event every week where 10,000 for 15 years
So the event thing works like this 10,000 x 520,000 x 30 = 15,600,000 now I do admit this looks impressive. It also looks like lots of work.

After reaching just 30 people you your disciples have become 1/6 of the planets population. It is a very simple principal and we the church have missed it.
As is often said it is not brain surgery it is just doing what the master did.
