John has an inspiring and challenging story that is well worth hearing. In 1996 John Kirkby gave up his successful career in the finance industry to do what he could to help people out of poverty and debt. He founded Christians Against Poverty in the northern UK town of Bradford. After starting from a small home office, John led the development of this charity, which has now helped over 10,000 people in the UK. John is also Founder/Director of several other companies and recently won the Daily Express “Tomorrow’s People Award” for Charity, Community and Environment.

CAP Australia was launched in 2001 and has now grown to 11 centres with the head office based here in Newcastle.

CAP UK has recently received the following awards
