Email

The church community is a very excitable one, last week there was an email that went around the world tell news of Steve an event that didn’t happen. (See post where is Steve)

Now well meaning people do things then everyone else just hit the forward tab on their email next thing you know it has gone every where.

If you send it you are responsible, to make sure it is true. Now I got the email and thought that is funny not all of this information makes sense.
I will have look in to this, which I did and posted what I found on the blog.

It didn’t take to long but I did do it.

The same for the myriad of other emails the come in to your in box every day.
It is not a big thing to type Hoax into a search engine to find out if it just a time wasting see how many times I can get this around the world email.
Or it is real & you want to send it on.
In Google there are 17,200,000 sites that will tell you about Hoaxes

The other is be careful of well meaning people in your organization a few years ago a entry cadet in a medium sized organization over in the U.S. sent out an email about a cause. To do with the Taliban and the treatment of women, great email the only thing is she asked for replies the email went every where and the company email server could not cope with the amount of replies.
If you are going to do something like that, do it from a web base email Hotmail & Yahoo give you heaps of space these days.
