“To be courageous...is an opportunity that sooner or later is presented to all of us.” John F. Kennedy, Profiles In Courage
We all need to be ready for those moments when our leadership is on the line and the fate or fortune of others depends on what we do.
Drawing from situations in history such as Vietnam and the Apollo 13 mission, when leadership mattered most and was often found lacking, Phil Baker will be drawing principles that will help you, the leader, be ready for your leadership moment.

On this weeks Show

My guest is Gerry O'Sullivan of Mangraviti Partners

I will do a spot from last weeks show

The BBL Starts the Thursday

About Gerry

Started work in 1966 with Ernst & Young in Melbourne. Took wife home to Wagga early seventies and worked for a firm of accountants there. Marriage dissolved eighteen years ago and came to Sydney. Worked for MBT Chartered accountants in North Sydney but came back to the Western Suburbs two years ago to join Mangraviti Partners. Got tired of all the travel.

Musically I was in the Australian boys choir from about nine years old. Did the Melbourne coffee lounge circuit in the sixties folk era. Appeared on Melbourne tonight etc; From then until I came to Sydney I was pretty much involved in cover bands doing pubs, clubs, B&S balls and support jobs for the likes of the Mentals, Cold Chisel, Mondo rock Jon English & others around the Riverina.

Been pretty quiet since I got to Sydney but although I’m predominately a vocalist, I’ve developed a love of guitars even if I’m not a hot player. I just like them.

Fresh from Africa

I have a friend in Africa at the moment

I got an email from him this morning He is in Zimbabwe till tomorrow here is couple of interesting things he had to say.

Stop Press: The currency was devalued by 1000% yesterday. Three zeros

were cut off, and new notes came in today – the largest being $Z100m

($A300!). This is much better for handling (we needed a backpack in the

South). Up till yesterday the largest one was $Z100,000 ($A30c!) – but no

news on the underlying inflation rate (reported at 1400% - that’s 1% every

6 hours)

ODD SPOT #3: There has been a report of a man arrested in one of the

larger supermarkets. In the current economic situation, security has been

tightened to prevent an increase in shoplifting. He had tried to carry a

suitcase in. When stopped by the security guard, he challenged the man’s

attempt to take his suitcase off him and store it until he left the shop.

He was told, "I am sorry, Sir, but you cannot take a suitcase into the

store." "Suitcase!", he indignantly replied, "THAT’S MY WALLET!!"
