Are churches right to say 'Jesus loves Osama'?
Just last Sunday I spoke to our church telling them of the myriad of voices that invade our lives.
The media has set its self as the prevailing voice that we should listen to even though it has no authority to do so!
This pole came about because of the attention of a small poster to draw peoples attention.
Several churches, including Baptist churches, in inner-Sydney have the message on signs which also feature a Bible extract saying, "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you".
Now I would say here is a classic example of an enemy we have not had an example of an enemy for a long time.
Someone for who we have all had a loathing an sure hatred the could be targeted
Here we have someone in Osama that we can clearly be seen as someone for whom the vast majority would hold some form of ill feeling.
Someone the church could genuinely hold up and say pray for those “who hate you”
Osama does hate us in the west, we may not hate him but certainly we would not give him much thought most of the time but if the coalition of the willing were to find him and in the process of try to capture him he was killed there would be relief and a degree of rejoicing that he is gone.

"But I hope they will understand that a lot of Australians, including many Australian Christians, will think that the prayer priority of the church on this occasion could have been elsewhere."

They were not asked why well that would give the Jesus & His word validity and the media really can’t have that
You see as Christians we do have authority it is just 99.5% of us don’t use it
The media don’t want anything of our authority getting out if it got out we could pray about this situation & there was change well that might just have people thinking it can happen in other areas.
The media here is really trying to undermine the church’s authority
So yes I did vote in the positive
Not for any other reason that I will not be undermined by people who have agendas against what I believe & Whom I believe
