Leadership lessons from the Australian Military

Guest Ken Macleod

Ken will be here to talk about alternative funding methods

Himself & whatever takes our fancy

Most military services around the world do not want to fight against us Aussies

Here is a good reason for that; they don’t thing we are any good we great.

In the WW1 we were 10% of the men on the ground & took 25% of the captives & over 25% of the captured land. Shattered the Hindenburg Line and that has been how it is with us in was. In most services they have a thing called collateral damage & acceptable losses. Those jumping out planes about 20% were not expected to make it.

Going into battle there are a number not expected to make it.

Australians going in all are expected to make it however just incase; every man knows the objective! & why so that they know that what is dependant on their action.

We have to do this because when we do this that is going to happen and more of our mates are going to do something decisive & we are apart of it.

Most other services take hill 308 or else???

So what can we in business learn form this?

Do our people know our strategy?

So do your key people know what you want, & how you want to get there?

Have they had input?

I call my business Lachlan Laing & Associated because I know I don’t know everything!

We see from out perspective someone on the floor or dealing with your customers has knowledge that you may not have and the adjustment just might be what you need to take you where you want to go!

How well are our people trained?

I recently had a short term contract with a few people working in a very large organisation but one of my people was there for them & me.

It does make a difference that way if something happens there is someone they can talk to instantly. They don’t have to find you before they make decision concerning your people

For instance they wanted to keep them on pasted when the contract finished they went to the person in charge on the floor it was organised before I knew about it.

Offer From yesterday

Do you need CASH now to take on that new contract? Or CASH now simply to relieve your stress from having to pay rent, or pay your creditors, or the ATO – all due when you just don’t know exactly when your customer is going to pay you?

The Interface Financial Group is Australia’s first and only invoice purchaser that gives you, the small business owner the choice, when you need it, access to millions of dollars within 24 hours with no contracts or property as security so you can focus on growing your business, free yourself from financial worries and sleep well at night.

à Special Offer for Our Valued Clients

For the remainder of June we’ll extend the following offer:

1. For any advance, in June we’ll provide you with FREE software to better plan and schedule your cash flow requirements.

2. Just contact Ken Macleod on 9363 3971 for a free 1 hour consultation today.

à How We Do This

IFG purchases selected individual invoices from you.

Invoices are purchased at a discount with no other costs incurred. We buy the amount owing at a discount and give you the cash immediately.

You only sell invoices when you need the cash, a “use it as you need it” basis.

IFG relies on the creditworthiness of your debtor, not you, so you can get the finance you need, even if you’re just starting out or your credit is not so great.

à Case Studies

Rounded Rectangle: Form Builder

The construction industry is notorious for squeezing the last dollar from the little man. This form builder, striving to grow, came to us to bridge the cash flow gap arising from demands to pay their suppliers on one of their projects (Project A). Fortunately, this builder had already raised a progress claim for another project, Project B. Interface agreed to buy this claim so that he could pay for the supplies on Project A.

As common as the problem is, Interface is unique in being able to advance cash on a progress payment “unsecured”.

Project B Contract

With an ASX listed head contractor

Cash Advance

$70,000

Terms on Progress Payments

45 days

Need

Pay for supplies to satisfy conditions of new project

Outcome

The Form Builder made payment to suppliers on time, and continues to maintain an excellent payment history with them. The customer paid in 29 days.

Rounded Rectangle: Electrician

This company had some problems with the tax office a year or so ago. The legacy of which is reflected in a payment schedule that as we all know cannot be ignored. Meanwhile, this electrician has contracted a supplier ‘forgetting’ that the supplier demanded cash on delivery, payment for which was supposed to come out of the proceeds of a progress payment not due for another 40 days. A decision had to be made – do I keep the project on schedule or do I miss a payment to the tax office? Fortunately, Interface was able to purchase another progress claim and avoid the agony.

Large Head Contractor

Cash Advance

$70,000

Terms on Progress Payment

45 days

Need

To keep up with scheduled payments to the ATO/pay for cash on delivery supplies

Outcome

The ATO was paid as was the supplier for the new contract which continues on schedule. The customer paid in 32 days.

The Interface funding method works brilliantly across many industries, and in particular we love the construction industry, real estate agents, manufacturers, recruitment agencies and general commerce businesses.

à What Our Clients Say

“Thank you for your prompt response in visiting our offices, following our initial contact made with Interface Financial. I must admit that I was somewhat apprehensive about entering into arrangements that I was not familiar with, however having completed our business transaction with minimal paperwork or interrogation as most finance companies do, I was most impressed with both your professionalism and understanding of our financial position when dealing with large contracts and commitments. I was also very impressed at the turn around time of advancing the funds once the paperwork was in place. This might not seem important to you, but has certainly made a difference to our company as far as keeping our suppliers happy, and being able to start other projects earlier than expected.

The flexibility of your product is so unique that it has allowed us to grow from strength to strength. To Interface Financial a big thank you and to Ken Macleod you are certainly a man with integrity. To any company out there that is growing faster than you can cope, I highly recommend Interface Financial Group as the ideal company to liaise with.”

Kind Regards

“Kenyon Prendeville Pty Ltd would like to express their thanks to Interface Financial Group for coming to our rescue in April of this year. Having invested 6 months in one major transaction it was becoming increasingly difficult to meet our day to day financial commitments whilst waiting for the settlement date. When, through no fault of our own, that date blew out by over 3 months, our cashflow was pushed to the limit and we started looking at options for temporary finance. It became evident that our overdraft facility was not going to cover us for more than a few weeks and other lenders had been hesitant to deal with such a sizeable loan for only 90 days.

Interface Financial Group were able to provide us with enough money to keep our business running for three months. Following our initial consultation with Ken Macleod the money was in our account within 3 days, allowing us to pay our creditors and keep our operations running smoothly. He took the time to actually understand the situation, keeping in regular contact with both ourselves and the third party who would be paying our bill. Kenyon Prendeville would have no hesitation in recommending the services of Ken and Interface Financial Group. Thank you for a fantastic service.”

Busy don’t you hate it!

I don’t like to be to busy, I don’t mind busy being someone who loves to keep active with things happening all the time I think it is great to be bust , not so you can’t so the thinks you like to do.

I do love my blog & when I can’t get to it accept for the quick things for the show which I have to prepare anyway I really don’t like it.

It has been a little like that of late.

So we will see how we get on now that this major event from my church is over things may settle down a little.

I may get to blog a few times a week I can only hope.

Tim Hall

My friend of many years has been with us this week.

We have seen things we haven’t seen for a long time.

People giving their lives over to God getting healed

Being encouraged and generally being blessed by God

Tim & I meet back in the late 70’s so we are talking a friendship of many years

This has seen some troubles & trials like any good friendship it has weathered major storms. I count hem a as close friend though we live in different states and don’t see each other as often as we would like.

Tim has been at our church, this week speaking on a number of things it has been very good. His insight on a few things has just helped to lift us to a new place it has been great.

I am looking forward to do things a little differently around the place form now on.

Looking to see how things go from here.

This weeks’ show

Lessons from the military

My Rant

Most military services around the world do not want to fight against us Aussies

Here is a good reason for that; they don’t thing we are any good we great.

Most other services take hill 308 or else???

So what can we in business learn form this?

Listen on Thursday or you can read it here after Thursday

This week we will have an interesting guest.

From this weeks show

I did try to post on Tuesday but the site was down for an upgrade

So here is the info from today.

Marketing & promotion

Product a?

Now a is a great product a is great the only thing is no one knows about product a

It is a better mouse trap but the world is not beating a path to the door!

Why 1) They don’t know about it

2) They don’t know which door will lead to product a

So what do we do?

Marketing plan we know there is a market there are similar products out there

We just have the best one by far price is on a par

Quality is over the top in comparison

Materials the best buy a long way

So what do we do?

Marketing plan

Surveys

Advertisings Plan

We do it all

Placement

Price point

All done

Our marketing is off though the world still doesn’t beat the path because we have made claims

We have done our testing but it is not customer driven

What does that mean well it technically correct but not actually for our customer bass it need to be in the hands of ordinary Joe’s

Now we then need to organise a campaign where normal people have used the product & found what??

Now we are talking they have used it they will talk about it we get there reaction

Da Vinci Code (not)

This morning I had breakfast with Dr Philip Rodionoff

Co author of The Da Vinci Decode “Is Christianity the greatest cover-up in human history”

Dan Brown has created a lot controversy with his book; the movie being out has only heightened the controversy. I am going to see the movie on Friday night with some friends.

One of whom has seen the movie with her work the day it came out.

I am looking forward to it.

I am not going to see what has happened but to see a great story.

To cut this short on the show tomorrow I have a few books to give away; so I will decide how I am going to do that before the show in the morning.

In the comming weeks we will have the good doctor on the show to talk about his business & the book.

This week on the show

This week on the show we have Phil Sammons

Phil is an interesting character, he is one of many who jugles two vastly different vocations. So we will let him tell us a little of that and whatever else he would like to share with us.

In the first hour it will be the usual trafic, trains, tunes & my rant on whatever comes across my plate during the week.

My suject this week is Deadlines!

We all have & get them but how do we deal with them?
